Retirement Investment Advice and Annuity Marketplace

Via Retirement helps individuals during one of life’s big moments – retirement.
Available in the US market, Via Retirement [1] is designed to help provide better retirement outcomes [2] through education, personalized modeling [3] , analysis of decisions related to rolling over assets from employer sponsored plans to individual retirement accounts [4] , initial and ongoing investment advice and providing access to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and a marketplace of annuity products [5].

From retirement readiness to retiring well

Employees spend decades building retirement savings, often through employer-sponsored plans. But as retirement approaches, the challenge shifts from building savings to turning those savings into a sustainable retirement plan.

It may feel overwhelming to navigate decisions about income, investments and longevity without personal investment guidance and tools.

Why the transition to retirement needs a different approach

As an employer, you invest significantly in helping employees financially prepare for retirement. Yet when they transition to retirees, they often face financial advice where incentives are not properly aligned with high fees and expenses, reducing the effect of their – and your – efforts.

WTW has over a century of experience in the institutional retirement and asset management areas, supporting organizations like yours with your benefit plans and financial wellbeing programs. Based on that experience, WTW has created Via Retirement to extend our knowledge and experience directly to your employees and former employees.

A clearer path designed for better retirement outcomes

Offering investment advice based on personalized financial modeling and access to an IRA and a marketplace of annuities, Via Retirement helps individuals navigate the transition from saving for retirement to living well in retirement.

Closing the retirement outcomes gap

WTW's 2026 U.S. Defined Contribution (DC) Survey found that many DC retirement plans are being asked to achieve more than they were originally designed to support. Employees are also worried about the longevity of their assets in retirement. Via Retirement is designed to help employees close this gap by providing retirement planning and post-retirement financial solutions. According to WTW’s own DC Survey and Global Benefits Attitudes Survey responses indicated that:

65%

of employees expect to be worse off in retirement than parents’ generation

68%

of employers rank enhancing employee experience as a top or high retirement program priority

63%

of employers prioritize improving retirement outcomes

54%

of employers prioritize greater visibility in talent attraction and retention

Discover how Via Retirement can help employees turn the savings they've built into a retirement strategy designed for what comes next.

WTWS and Towers Watson Retiree Insurance Services, Inc., an insurance brokerage firm ("TWRIS"), are commonly-owned affiliates, and when a Client's recommended asset allocation includes a general allocation to fixed annuities, WTWS refers the Client to a TWRIS insurance agent to evaluate whether to purchase a fixed annuity, consistent with the Client's best interest, a service for which TWRIS earns a commission on the resulting sale. Fixed annuity transactions are not purchased through or part of WTWS' advisory fees or services. Via Retirement by WTW is subject to eligibility requirements and is not available to all members of the general public. Purchase of products is not required to receive investment advice.
