Welcome back to our Fall Insurance Marketplace Realities Report. As you read the report, you will see many of the themes echoed from what was outlined in the Spring with the highlight, that the market largely is favorable for our clients. The notable exceptions continue to be auto liability, unsupported lead umbrellas, excess liability and a handful of particularly challenging general liability classes. However, we are starting to see signs of potential rate peaking in excess casualty driven in part by broker led facilities such as Gemini and new market entrants in the form of MGA/MGUs, combined with years of rate increases and reduced limit deployment. Geopolitical volatility continues to effect lines of business such as Political Violence, Terrorism, and Marine but capacity still remains resilient in these lines of business.
Despite continued pressures from tariff uncertainty, climate volatility, third-party litigation funding, increased severity of verdicts, aggregation concentration, digital dependencies, geopolitical instability and changing alliances, the insurance environment still offers opportunities in most lines of business as outlined in this report.
The theme of this report is The Specialist View: Navigating Tomorrow's Risk Landscape for 2027. Within this report across the product lines, specialties and solutions, we reference AI over 70 times and data centers over 20 times. Unsurprisingly, AI is a transformative force across energy, tech, financial institutions, healthcare and other sectors. The rapid growth of AI, cloud computing and digital infrastructure is creating significant demand for specialized insurance solutions. Technology is also driving efficiencies for our clients and our colleagues as well as accelerating innovation. It is also leading to emerging exposures which require your placement brokers to work across lines and solutions to ensure adequate protection for these risks. In today’s environment, it is critical that your advisors do not act in silos to help protect your evolving risks as well as maximize this favorable marketplace.
Within this report, our featured interview is with Krista Cinotti, Head of Placement Strategies and Head of Middle Market and Select, and Frannie Epps, Head of Digital Experience. The focus of this interview is on the future of broking which is rapidly becoming today’s reality with the pace of technology advancements. Their views show a vision of the future that embraces technology and the opportunities it opens for clients and colleagues. The ability to focus more on strategy and to innovate with speed has never been more critical.
Our featured article by John Merkovsky, Head of Risk and Analytics, is on AI, data analytics and connected risk intelligence in driving decisions on how to protect your risks.
