Global Pension Finance Watch – Second Quarter 2026

Author

George Pantelides and

July 22, 2026

The U.S. recorded the strongest improvement, driven by robust asset performance that more than offset liability growth. Other markets also reported meaningful gains, supported by favorable investment returns and stable liability positions. The U.K. saw the smallest increase, with liability growth largely offsetting asset gains.

While it is always the case that the Global Pension Finance Watch captures results at the end of each quarter, we particularly want to highlight the "point in time" view of this publication in light of recent volatility. WTW supports the daily monitoring of pension funded status and other key pension financial metrics for those organizations wishing to inform key business decisions.
