It has been sixteen years since the Annual Allowance (AA) and Lifetime Allowance (LTA) were first introduced and four years since WTW's last survey on this topic.

In the last few years, we have seen some tweaks to the Annual Allowance and Lifetime Allowance legislation, as well as increased pension governance and a focus from employers on the greater financial wellbeing of their employees.

Our 2022 AA and LTA survey shows how employers have adjusted the support provided to employees to reflect these legislative changes and emerging trends.

About the survey

This survey was conducted in September 2022 and includes 156 responses from our consultants on behalf of WTW clients (117 for Defined Contribution pension arrangements and 39 for Defined Benefit pension arrangements). The organisations included in the survey are from a variety of industries.
