The Willis Towers Watson difference - our approach

Adding value outside of the typical due diligence role, through pragmatic and active involvement with you, our approach centres on the review and drafting of risk and insurance provisions within project agreements. Our goal is ensuring the best possible outcome for both financiers and project sponsors.

  • Understanding the risk factors
We identify and assess the key insurable operational risk issues which may significantly impact financial model assumptions.
  • Premium forecasts – Acting to reduce volatility
We sense check the insurance premium forecasts used within the project financial model, and consider factors which may contribute to the variability of modelled estimates over the short to mid-term, post close.
  • Drafting appropriate provisions
We review and assist in drafting appropriate risk and insurance provisions within all relevant project agreements, in our experience this is frequently overlooked during the deal phase and can cause costly issues post transaction.
  • Evaluating your insurer
We look at the financial strength of the selected insurance companies, reviewing policy wordings in detail and providing commentary on their adequacy, as well as opportunities for improvement.
  • The right cover
Are your sums insured, sub-limits and deductibles appropriate? We can assist in developing a clear, concise and commercially achievable schedule of insurance requirements.
  • Non-mandatory cover
We review and advise if there are non-mandatory coverages that could/should be included within the project insurance program, where available on a value-for-money basis.
  • Meeting regulatory requirements
We review the insurance law and regulations relevant to the transaction.
