WTW appoints Hazel Kendrick to new role as Head of Strategic Relationships for GB pensions businesses

October 5, 2026

LONDON – OCTOBER 5, 2026 – WTW has appointed Hazel Kendrick to a newly created Head of Strategic Relationships role, spanning its GB pensions businesses.

The role was created in April 2026 to strengthen the firm’s market presence and deepen its commitment to the professional trustee market, which continues to grow in importance.

After nearly six months in the new role, Kendrick has developed dedicated, full-time leadership of WTW's key external relationships across the professional trustee market, working across the company's core pensions businesses of Retirement, Investments and Outsourcing (pensions administration).

She works alongside a relationship-focused team of more than 20 colleagues, responsible for building and maintaining senior relationships with professional trustees, prospective clients and other decision-makers, with the aim of adding value for clients.

This deepened focus comes at a time when defined benefit schemes face an increasingly complex environment, and the professional trustee's role is growing in significance. The market itself is changing quickly too, with growing interest in sole trustee models and a sharper focus on independence and governance.

Kendrick said: "Professional trustees are playing an increasingly important role in helping schemes respond to complexity, manage risk and make effective decisions. Over the past six months, it's been a privilege to help connect WTW's expertise across pensions with the needs of this important and evolving market."

The professional trustee market now includes around 2,500 appointments across defined benefit schemes, while around half of all defined benefit schemes use at least one professional trustee.*
