Research themes
The Willis Research Network’s technology program explores how disruptive technologies are reshaping risk and resilience. We focus on themes where rapid change creates both opportunity and liability, from cyber risk and bio-security to the governance of artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. Trust in technology has become a defining factor for risk transfer, and our work examines the frameworks that enable or hinder adoption. We also track how advances in AI and data science transform modelling and horizon scanning. By linking cutting-edge research to applied solutions, WRN helps WTW and its clients anticipate and manage technology-driven risks.
Featured projects
Evolving AI liability research with Drexel University raises questions of accountability, regulation, and insurance solutions as systems make autonomous decisions with real-world consequences.
AI adoption accelerates efficiency and insight, but research with Wharton Mack Institute explores how trust, governance, and risk management remain critical for sustainable integration into business operations.
Autonomous vehicles promise safety and efficiency, yet raise complex liability, cyber, and resilience challenges that reshape underwriting and risk transfer strategies that are explored in research with Loughborough University.
