SYDNEY, April 2, 2024 – WTW (NASDAQ: WTW), a leading global advisory, broking, and solutions company, is ranked as the industry’s leading asset consultant1 in the annual independent survey of Australian institutional investors, conducted by Peter Lee Associates this year. This is a testament to the firm’s continuous commitment to delivering outstanding investment services for its clients.

WTW has distinguished itself from its peers, emerging as the number one ranked asset consultant in the Australian market, as evidenced by the Relationship Strength Index. This is a rating shaped by views from almost 100 chief investment officers, chief executive officers and other leading investors across both the super and non-super market in Australia.

WTW’s Australian Investments team was remarkably top ranked across 11 key metrics in the Relationship Strength Index, including consultant capability, quality of service, domestic manager research, global manager research, capital markets research, strategic advice and sustainability advice.

Asset owners are seeking us out for the strength of our investment strategy, research, governance and sustainability work.”

Aongus O’Gorman | Head of Investments, Australia, WTW

Aongus O’Gorman, Head of Investments for WTW in Australia commented: “Over the past 12 months, we have seen considerable growth in our engagement with clients and prospects across multiple offerings. Asset owners are seeking us out for the strength of our investment strategy, research, governance and sustainability work”.

WTW’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) also climbed sharply in 2024 and was amongst the highest score achieved across the industry in the history of the survey. Aongus said, “Our NPS has risen significantly over the past year with an overwhelming majority of our clients likely to recommend our services to others in the market and this is something we are really proud of. Not only are we consistently meeting and exceeding the needs of our current clients, as shown by our rankings across all major categories, our clients are also advocating for us and that is particularly gratifying. We value the strong, trusted and often longstanding relationships with our clients and we thank them for their ongoing support.”

Aongus added, “The survey results are a reflection of our team’s continued efforts to ensure the highest quality advice and implementation, are tailored to clients’ needs. The market has changed in recent years and so our model has had to adapt to these changes and in many cases, pre-empting the broader market trends. It’s pleasing to see that our service levels have remained high through this period of change and our advice is clearly resonating with our clients across both the super and non-super sectors.

“The capability of our consultants, who delivered this advice, was once again highlighted as a key strength of our organisation. This is something we take great pride in and we are delighted to see these results”.

This year’s research from Peter Lee Associates continues to highlight a bifurcation in the servicing of key players in the investment management market.  On the one hand, there are the very large asset owners (including retail platforms with multi-manager portfolios) - who require very different services to charities, endowments, and financial planning firms. Managing Director of Peter Lee Associates, Sandhya Chand, comments that WTW emerges as a strong contender in key areas such as sustainability consulting, global manager research and quality of dynamic/tactical advice - and is well regarded across most key metrics by non-super clients requiring a full-service asset consultant.

WTW emerges as a strong contenter in key areas such as sustainability consulting, global manager research and quality of dynamic / tactical advice.”

After continuing to shift the way WTW delivers asset consulting services in Australia, Aongus said the survey reflected WTW’s rising awareness in the market. “We’ve engaged across the market to understand more deeply the unique business models, growth aspirations and areas where organisations may have challenges, and identify where we can best help them invest optimally. It’s all about building relationships for the long term and delivering the right services to ensure clients achieve their goals. While we have the flexibility to deliver our services in different ways, quality advice is at the heart of every engagement.”

The Peter Lee Associates Survey results are collated from individual interviews with industry respondents, where they are asked for their views on the services and capabilities of asset consulting firms.
