Research Program

Organizational Resilience Research

Research themes

The Organizational Resilience Hub explores how businesses can anticipate, withstand, and adapt to disruption in an increasingly interconnected and uncertain world. We examine the drivers of operational fragility, including supply chain breakdowns, property vulnerabilities, and systemic shocks, and translate this research into practical tools, models, and insights that enhance resilience and support informed decision-making.

Through partnerships and applied research, we address challenges such as quantifying supply chain risk, modeling organizational interdependencies, assessing resilience strategies, and understanding the financial and regulatory implications of disruptions. By combining data-driven analysis with real-world case studies, we help organizations move beyond risk transfer to proactive resilience-building.

Our work empowers businesses to navigate uncertainty with confidence, safeguard critical operations, and transform resilience into a lasting source of value and competitive advantage.

Featured projects

Logo of Southern Denmark University

Using advanced data analytics and real-time triggers, together with the University of Southern Denmark we aim to develop parametric insurance solutions that deliver rapid, transparent payouts after disasters. This research will create scalable models to close protection gaps for vulnerable communities, ensuring affordable and accessible coverage where it’s needed most.

Logo of Loughborough University

Harnessing AI-driven analytics and automated workflows, research with Loughborough University aims to develop next-generation risk engineering tools that transform property risk evaluation. This research will create scalable models for faster, more accurate assessments, enabling proactive risk mitigation and improved resilience for businesses and communities worldwide.

Logo of Edinburgh University

Utilizing a multifaceted approach that combines AI, advanced statistics, and economic modeling, this work with the University of Edinburgh aims to model the ripple effects of supply chain shocks and their impact on organizational resilience. By integrating these analytics with insurance design, the project aims to create dynamic risk-pricing models and rapid payout mechanisms that accelerate recovery and make resilience investments more cost-effective.
