ASIA, December 15, 2021 – Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, is proud to announce Rhiannon Alban-Davies as one of 2021 Rising Stars featured by the Insurance Business Asia this year.
This is an annual ranking that showcases young insurance professionals making waves in the early stages of their careers in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Rhiannon is responsible for the strategic fine art and specie expansion plan for Asia. She also handles the private client and art insurance policies of some of Willis Towers Watson’s (WTW) largest corporate clients globally.
“I am honoured and grateful to be recognised as one of the Rising Stars in this year’s list. As specialists in the Fine Art & Specie world, it is important for my team and I to be up-to-date and proactive to the unique difficulties our clients face in their times in need. This has been even more important over the last two years when COVID-19 hit the world.
Despite the challenges faced by our clients, we stayed close to them, providing them with the insurance and risk management support their businesses or collections needed, and helped them achieve their operational and logistical goals. I am proud of what we’ve been able to achieve for both our corporate and private clients,” said Rhiannon.
Commenting on the award, Ted Hodgkinson, Head of Corporate Risk & Broking, Hong Kong and Macau, and Leader for WTW in Hong Kong and Macau, said: “Over the last few years, Rhiannon has led her teams in Hong Kong to achieve consistent double-digit growth year-on-year despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. She expanded her team and began to oversee two other dedicated fine art and specie resources in Asia. Through her commitment and passion, the team has significantly grown its portfolio of collectors in Hong Kong and now looks after some of the largest collection in the region.”
Lewis Hart, Head of Marine Asia, WTW added: “Being one of the few specialists in her field in Asia, Rhiannon is able to advance the risk mitigation practice of a specialist product line in Asia and raise the level of understanding of fine art and specie in insurance through various ways and cross-selling with other teams. The tough business environment and inability to travel didn’t deter her from winning new clients in Southeast Asia, China and the Middle East. We are very proud of Rhiannon’s achievements at WTW.”
