In this newsletter we continue to celebrate our 15-year anniversary. The traditional gift to mark the occasion is crystal, representing enduring clarity in the relationship between partners with common aims and goals. A more modern version is a watch, symbolising the time that has been spent together and the promise of more time to come. Both gifts provide perfect analogies to the objectives of the Willis Research Network since its beginning – a commitment to long term partnerships with common aims to improve the understanding of risk.
It was an honour to be able to showcase the work of the Willis Research Network alongside some of the key people who helped make the WRN happen all those years ago at our recent Willis Research Network conference. Sincere thanks to all those who could attend and be part of the gathering where, over three days, we saw a number of talks presenting our research partnerships and panel session discussions exploring key themes. Our conference campaign site is now fully updated with all the plenary sessions including presentations and discussions, alongside new on-demand videos providing even more insights on key topics of interest. We hope that you enjoy this newsletter. Despite our 15-year anniversary celebrations we know that no one institution possesses a crystal ball that gives them the ability to accurately predict the future but, with time, we aim to provide even more clarity on key risks and themes. We look forward to continuing discussions around these topics.

The Portuguese risk landscape
Since inception, The Willis Research Network has enjoyed a privileged position being able to participate in conversations with key influencers across the Re/insurance world. These discussions have helped shape a research agenda that continues to align with some of the key risks facing the industry. Indonesian Flood model
Developed jointly with the WRN partner, National University of Singapore (NUS) Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI), our new Indonesian Flood model provides a detailed assessment of the flood risk countrywide including the industrial estates in West Java which are prone to frequent flooding.

The Willis Research Network: 15 years of Science for Resilience
The Willis Research Network (WRN) team held its 3-day conference to celebrate the team's 15-year anniversary. Since inception, we have grown to a network of more than 60 partnerships with top universities, research centres and think tanks all around the globe, collaborating to develop practical, applied research that can deliver innovative insights and a deeper understanding of the challenges we face. Over three days we will be looking at how WRN research has helped to develop a better understanding and knowledge across the risk landscape, covering a range of topics from natural catastrophes to geopolitical risks, the future of technology and emergent risks likely to shape the research agenda in the future.
