ARLINGTON, VA, June 24, 2020 — Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, has received two insurance technology awards from InsuranceERM.com, an insurance industry risk and capital management online service. The inaugural InsuranceERM Americas Awards 2020 recognized Willis Towers Watson’s DataValidator as Data Solution of the Year and Unify as ERM End-to-End Solution of the Year. The InsuranceERM judging panel consisted of leading industry professionals with deep experience of risk and capital management who were chosen for their knowledge and objectivity.

“Willis Towers Watson’s DataValidator won the award for Data Solution of the Year for its intuitive application, comprehensive reporting features and extensive functionality across all types of source data,” said the judges. “Unify showed its strengths in winning ERM End-to-End Solution of the Year by demonstrating automation, governance and controls, along with orchestration of multiple systems, across complex projects and processes.”

DataValidator is deployed in some of the largest global insurers; it validates, cleanses and transforms data efficiently, preparing it for use in financial modeling and reporting processes. At each stage it generates detailed audit report maintaining governance controls that support regulatory requirements. “Data quality continues to be one of the most difficult challenges insurers face today,” said Paul Harper, director, Insurance Consulting and Technology, Willis Towers Watson. “This award, which we are really pleased to receive, recognizes DataValidator’s intuitive application, wide-ranging reporting features and extensive functionality across all types of source data.”

Unify connects and integrates the disparate systems an insurer might have; it provides automation to enable processes to be completed more efficiently, freeing up personnel to perform more value-added work. “Insurers are frustrated by the complex web of loosely connected systems they must rely on for strategic decision making and financial and regulatory reporting,” said Joseph Milicia, global product leader, Business Process Excellence, Willis Towers Watson. “This terrific award validates Unify’s ability to enable insurers to achieve more, faster and for less, with appropriate control and governance, and the benefit of real-time management information.”
