LONDON, June 30, 2022 — WTW (Willis Towers Watson, NASDAQ: WTW), a leading global advisory, broking, and solutions company, has recruited Joshua Begner to lead a new practice targeting the vibrant M&A market in Israel.

Begner will relocate to Israel to become Head of Private Equity and M&A FINEX at WTW Israel, and starts his new role on July 3. Begner will be responsible for growing all aspects of the WTW Israel M&A business with a particular focus on W&I (Warranty & Indemnity), contingent liability insurance, and insurance diligence.

He was previously Senior Vice President at Marsh McLennan in London, where he established and led the Israel M&A desk. Prior to that Begner was a senior corporate lawyer at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

The announcement reflects the long-term, ambitious, and growth-focused strategy of WTW Israel, which was formed through the acquisition by WTW of the established Israeli broker Leaderim earlier this year.

Oded Haimov, Head of WTW Israel, said: “WTW is committed to growth and innovation in Israel, and we see great opportunities in the M&A market, which has been exceptionally buoyant and vibrant over the past two years, particularly in the hi-tech space.

“We aim to be at the forefront of developing solutions to a wide range of M&A-related risks, combining global solutions and platforms with local knowledge and practices.

“Investing in our talented team is fundamental to our overall strategy, and we’re delighted to welcome Joshua. He has been a key force behind the growth of M&A insurance in Israel over the past two years and brings a proven record of driving growth and client satisfaction.”

Joshua Begner said: “It is an honor to take on this role and I am hugely excited to be joining WTW. Israel is evolving from the ‘Start-up nation’ to the ‘Scale-up nation’ and I consider it the most innovative and dynamic place in the world today.

“2021 was a year of unprecedented growth for Israel, with a record number of ‘unicorns’ and a significant increase in global PE investment. Alongside this, we have seen a surge in the use of M&A insurance solutions on Israeli deals and we expect this to continue as global investment in Israel grows. With its unique local knowledge and global offering, there is no better organisation to lead this growth than WTW Israel.”

Later this summer, the M&A practice will expand when Begner is joined by Aaron Katz a US-trained senior corporate lawyer from Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Katz brings substantial M&A experience and a deep understanding of the Israeli market.
