Globally, there’s been a foundational shift in the design and definition of what constitutes the workplace. Concepts such as work from home, anywhere working, hybrid work models are now common parlance. This has had profound implications not only on where employees work, but their entire relationship with the nature of work.

Against such a backdrop, employers must move quickly to stay relevant. The implications of the new normal will touch on dimensions beyond the physical office — or even the organisation’s bottom line.

Willis Towers Watson’s 2021 Benefit Trends Survey takes the pulse of the current employer perspective, strategies and practice. Across Indonesia, 51 organisations participated in the survey, of which 67% are multinational companies.

Key findings:

71% of employers plan to have customised their benefits strategy in the next two years, compared to 34% today

‘Stress, burnout and mental health issues’ are the top concerns for employers today

Advances in technology for benefits, increased focus on inclusion and diversity and tight labour markets are driving the benefits strategy

Most employers aspire to adopt an enhanced digital strategy for benefits in the next two years
